Both Jim Chapin and Ed Shaughnessy,my two greatest teachers...Paradiddled me to death....Permutating,changing where you accent...2 accent double paradiddles.....No end to these things......Nice video...........Ralph Onofrio
Everything looks so clean and new, you are really pushing hard for the quality of your channel. Even that camera moving around is such a nice thing. I cannot compete at this level right now on my channel, but it's nice to see someone else that seem to care even more then I do about drums. I was focussing on my sound and what I want to play, but your presentation is so professionnal that I think I will have to put more efforts to get better cameras, better lightning and the total black background eliminate distraction. I will subscribe and I must say it, your drum channel is top notch. Bravo!
Appreciate your ability to take rudiments from a very clean technical marching style and explaining the application to the kit- including that you have to break that “corps style” application once on the kit but the chops can still help. Favorite Corps : I’m a bit older now so it goes back a bit - I was in the 1979 North Star “chrome wall” snare line. No matter the year or the corps, I think anyone who marched shares a bit of a common fabric from the experience. Thanks for the videos. I look forward to Tuesdays !
Thank you for your well thought out comment. I'm glad meet another drummer of the old school corps style, who appreciates what that experience offers us moving forward.
I’m a year into drumming. I’ve spent a week and a half on this so far and I’m having a lot of fun with it. Finally at the point of putting all three (basic, ride, fill) together. Greatly appreciate you, Gabriel.
You are my new drum go to guy. Thanks so much for sharing so freely. I think I can learn this lesson and not just dream of it. I like the three tempo format, it's not intimidating. You are the guy!
Hey Gabe from Ned in Spain and thanks for this lesson. You came up with an excellent way to use the pattern by beautifully integrating it into a sweet groove. I've found that the more I work seriously and consistently with rudiments the easier it is to learn new patterns and concepts. Take care Gabe.
Concurring with the other comments, your lessons are clear, slow enough and movement at first to adopt some other places to go too fast. I really clear and concise and I really like your playing you come across really well.!!
@@DrumTipTuesdayI have little time and no space to practice, so I’ll rely on you as my cheat sheet for growth. Thank you! I wish all the best for you!🫶
Wow I have seen tons of videos, but nothing like this, it has the writting, plus 3 different tempos as well as warm up with doubles and singles and all of that makes it much more easy to put it into practice. Moreover the explanation is amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Can you do more related to Jazz? Thanks again, this is amazing!
Thank you for the kind compliment. In this life I've not been afforded the opportunity to perform much Jazz. I did a whole course on Jazz independence as a reading exercise on DrumTipTuesday.com I have done four lessons like this with triplets here on RUclips that might be of interest to you. They're not Jazz but the triplet patterns are applicable. 1. This is the Triplet Drum Groove Lesson ruclips.net/video/Q6G2i_fbvv8/видео.html 2. I knew you were drum corps how can I tell I was in the Blue devils from 1975 to 1981 I'm a big fan of paradiddles love them and love your stuff keep it coming love all drum corps my favorites Santa Clara vanguards the Bridgman add phantom regiment yes I still play I have three drum sets play a lot of paradiddles on my double kicks you have some great stuff keep it up I love it
Blue Devils were my first favorite as a kid. Me and my best friend used to watch it on public access television together dreaming about being great one day. Thank you for your support of this channel, I think I'm a RUclips "lifer" at this point.
I studied this exercise when I was starting out with the drums, and I never thought of doing it this way, congratulations, sensational, but it's never too late. 😂
I remember the first time I saw some footage of corps outside the U.S. I was on a contract with a bass player from Scotland. He had some files on his lap top and I loved it
Ginger baker said the Para diddle is the most important of all the drum rudiments… he said you have to learn how to play it every way it can be played inside out, backwards, and forwards every way…
I appreciate lesson's, I don't read sheet music, so I have no clue what you are saying, 2nd I am a Lefty, and get confused, is the L R L R R for right handed , so do I reverse the sequence?
For now just ignore that. Produce accented and unaccented notes however you're used to and put the pattern on drums. Just like with anything, pick and choose the parts that are useful to you and leave the rest behind.

I got my Paradiddling done in drum line. It was rough at the time but I am so grateful now.

One of the best lessons I've ever seen on RUclips. Well done!
Drum beats based on rudiments are always my favorites! Thank you
I like your way playing drums. Smart and smoth 😊
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback

Awesome lesson 🙏🏾💯
Thank you. I'll be doing some tuning next week.
You're inspiring me to play drums again. 🙏
That’s what I’m trying to hear

Thank you so much. That’s everything I’m trying to be
Thank you !
Excellent presentations on bringing the rudiments to the kit as linear. I luv your cleanup methods also which im sure you learned from drumline 👏👏
Glad it was helpful!
Gorgeous drums sir! They sound beautiful
Thank you. I always wanted an all maple kit, then I found this one in my favorite color used for a good deal
One other groove I love that uses double paradiddles is Ian Paice's pattern for " Chasing Shadows "on the 3rd Deep Purple LP from 1969
Yes, another great application for the Double Paradiddle. Thanks for reminding me.
It would be very nice 2 hear some
inverted Paradiddles alternating &
with hand 2 hand.
Bada Bing - Bada Boom!!!🥁
Cool, I can do that!
Thank you for your dedication and effort to put everything into this! It’s easy to follow. I hope it will reward you in everthing that you put in.
Thank you. It's been my most viewed video so far. Now I know what people like.

Brilliant lesson! Ive just found you, glad I did! Thank you! 😁😁👍👍🍺🍺🍺
I'm glad you like it. Next Tuesday we will discuss some drum tuning concepts if you're into it.
@@DrumTipTuesday I will set my calender! Thanks! 😁👍

That sticking pattern is one for all times for sure. Endless applications.
Always great fun stuff
Thank you Joseph, I appreciate it.
Maravilloso !!! Grande maestro !!!
I'm glad you like it. Come back next week
Can you explain your tom arrangement please? Just curious why the order.
Great quick lesson. Ty
I did a whole video on it HERE: ruclips.net/video/ORVx_3UyDKw/видео.htmlsi=Drgc68E0SsCP5URN
double your Paradiddles, double your fun
No doubt about it. Double down on rudiment study lol
素晴らしいレッスンありがとうございます😊ダブルパラディドルでもこんなにも表現できるんですね👍勉強になりました!これからも応援してます∩^ω^∩

Yo amazing video man, What ride cymbal is that?
I did a whole video on the cymbals HERE: ruclips.net/video/ZcCngCUWuXs/видео.html
I’m as death metal as they come I would love to add some linear/paradiddle rhythms to it!
Totally do that! …and if you ever post it, tag me so I can check it out
Great, but I think, it looses the triplet feel in the second half of the video. What do you think?
Yes, the triplets earlier in the video were just to demonstrate the rudiment. The grove on the kit is based on 16th notes
Keep it up ! . The paradiddle is for sure one of the best rudiment for the drum kit in my opinion.
Madison Scouts Baby!! Ok for drumline it's the Blue Devils though!! Nice video, you have a new subscriber!!
Nice to have you here. Blue Devils were may first favorite drum line as a kid.
my favourite drumcorps are the Top Secret Drumcorps from Germany.
I remember the first time I saw some footage of corps outside the U.S. I was on a contract with a bass player from Scotland. He had some files on his lap top and I loved it

He was right all the way
Hey Teach What kind and size are the drum sticks you are using?
The one I use on drum set is a Vic Firth 5b and on the pad I like the M-Dawg corps master snare drum stick also by Vic Firth
@ thanks. I will be buying and trying both
Cool groove! Reminds Mr of Future Sounds by David Garabaldi.
That is a great book! I really got a lot of value from the study of those patterns and that page about the dynamic levels.
I appreciate lesson's, I don't read sheet music, so I have no clue what you are saying, 2nd I am a Lefty, and get confused, is the L R L R R for right handed , so do I reverse the sequence?
The "snare drum hand" whatever one that is for you should be "L" The "cymbal hand" should be the "R"
Спасибо большое за урок! Привет из России
Я рад, что тебе это нравится. Спасибо за просмотр
play it fast and it becomes a ROLL
Lost me b4 the 2 min mark. Down Up tap
Come on!
